Wanting to create an entrance that evoked the feeling of a special sanctuary, Steven constructed the timbered doors using the owner’s strap hinges and live-edged ironwood for bracing. An ingenious lock and handle were crafted by a local metal-smith. When you step through the doorway, it is as if you are entering a special space that asks you to stay awhile, unbound by time.
