living sanctuaries
OutComes In represents the work of Steven Marx, designer and master builder living in the Pacific Northwest. Steven has consummate skill at building structures by hand and broad knowledge of organic architectural design. Trained in the Midwestern US, he brought his passion for creating live space to the Pacific NW 41 years ago.
His mission is to create spaces that transform lives by helping people better connect to the natural world. And in doing so, promote a life of improved health, happiness, and well-being.
"the house shelters day dreaming,
the house protects the dreamer,
the house allows one to dream in peace.”

Dream
DESIGN
Steven designs, constructs, and installs small to medium sized studios, meditation rooms, sanctuaries and stand-alone structures, as well as re-imagining space in existing dwellings.
He works from the view that since we inhabit our structures, good design is created from the inside out. By improving the relationship we have with our living space, he believes we will improve the character of our lives. He designs live spaces that employ light, color, texture, proportion, and the four elements, creating an environment where all who live there can thrive.
Wood and Nails
BUILD
Rigorously trained by ‘old school’ carpenters before nail guns and laser levels, Steven has been building hand-made structures professionally for over 40 years. He has built public spaces, shops, clinics, offices, art studios, yoga studios, residences in many architectural styles, custom woodwork, furniture, and cabinets, as well as re-imagining hundreds of existing spaces that needed help. His experience with building from the ground up helps keep his lofty ideas down to earth and practical.
Possibilities
CONSULT
Many of us have unanswered questions about our living space. Should I move or stay? Can I change my home to make it better work for me? What is the process for building a new home? How do I find a builder I want to work with? Is this house worth upgrading? If I change my home, how will it change my lifestyle and perhaps me?
Steven works with clients to help them look at possibilities, and in the process, see their home with new eyes.
